Staff at Oaks Nipomo undergo extensive training courses which focus on how to physically and emotionally care for residents with dementia. This training covers topics such as: Alzheimer’s & Dementia Disease Awareness, Strategies for Caring for the Person with Dementia, Communication and Understanding Behavior, Social Needs and Activities, Eating Well, Reducing Pain, Falls, Wandering, Restraint-Free Care, and End-of-Life Care.
